It seems almost a mockery of fate to see that simultaneously with the new production of Anna Fietta the neologism "petals is all the rage"...

A painted blue wave on the wall runs around the room, on it swim so many saraghine large and small with a thousand different colours. annafietta
has always created small and large fish decorated by mosaics. The fish shape is very beautiful and lends itself well to being decorated in many ways. And so after collecting various types of sardines found around the Mediterranean, it was decided to create in mosaic our Ravenna sardine, calling it by the dialect name "saraghina". We chose a shape and manufactured it in wood in three dimensions and the same shape has been decorated in countless different ways, making each fish unique and original while swimming with the others on the blue waves of the exhibition hall. The exhibition was opened in March of 2015. On the occasion of Ravenna's Night of gold, 8 October 2015 we made a huge black saraghina 4 metres long, that we hung outdoors on our terrace and on it we hung many saraghine, calling this installation "Saraghine in the night." The exhibition has had considerable success with audiences and sales. On January 7, 2016 we dismantelled the exhibition, carrying the large saraghina to the ground floor and hanging on her the remaining saraghine. The saraghine now are part of the fixed workshop production, thanks to the success they have had and we will continue to reserve a space for them.

Record of the exhibition
There are so many ways to discover a city.
The guided tour by characters dressed in mosaic tiles is a playful vision. It 's all a play of light. Of optics. To see with new eyes what is around us.
This photographic exhibition of Annafietta, of mosaic, and Enrico Calderoni, at the camera is an unusual trip through Ravenna today which expertly combines works of today and yesterday.
In the background, stand silent and authoritative historical icons. S Vitale, Galla Placidia, S, Francesco, St. Apollinaris Nuovo, the Rocca Brancaleone, the Dock ... the sea. Impalpable presence. Private and welcoming.
Under the spotlight, in the foreground, the light is refracted and shatters: towering sculptures in precious mosaic clothes. By tilting the head or squinting, then, colours and hues make these small living presences.
A silver dog with red coat barking under S. Francesco; running with their hands merged the married couple dressed in shiny and matte white; two blue and gold fish dart in the moat of the Rocca; the couple look at each other under the Town Hall; a green crocodile lazily yawns on the sand dunes; a shell opens with a royal gesture her white and gold heart; and from the pier of the Dock an orange trireme sails waving its white sail as a hymn of peace.
For each image there is a surprised look.
And the mind is broken down into many coloured glass stories in an endless mosaic.
